MEDICAL CERTIFICATES

Flight personnel acquires their rights on the basis of a flight license and a medical certificate.

The holder of a medical certificate must be mentally and physically able to perform his duty safely on the basis of the appropriate permit.

To obtain a medical certificate, a candidate must undergo an aero-medical examination and meet the medical criteria for the required permit.

Class 1 medical certificate is mandatory for holders of ATPL and CPL, but can also be obtained by holders of PPL, SPL, BPL and LAPL.

Class 2 medical certificate is mandatory for holders of PPL, SPL and BPL.

Thus, the class 1 certificate is stronger than the class 2 certificate.

To renew a valid medical certificate, a medical examination may be conducted no earlier than 45 days (six weeks) before the expiration of the validity of the certificate.

In this case, the period of validity of the new certificate starts from the expiration date of the previous medical certificate.
